ABOUT SPARROW AND BARBOSSA

Sparrow & Barbossa is a talented DJ and producer duo comprised of Bryan Coletta, hailing from Switzerland, and Emiliano Haberli, originally from Uruguay. Alongside Pippi Ciez and ST53, they co-own the renowned Inward Records.

Bryan comes from a musical family and has a background in piano. His father, Francis Coletta, is a legendary guitarist who has worked with the likes of Whitney Houston, Quincy Jones, and Frank Sinatra. From a young age, Bryan was influenced by Soul, Jazz, and Funk, which he incorporates into his music with his impressive improvisation skills and versatility.

Emiliano grew up in a region of Uruguay dominated by African colonials, where he was heavily influenced by “The Culture of Candombe,” a pure African tribal rhythm stemming from colonialism. After moving to Europe 15 years ago, he became immersed in the electronic music scene and began to develop his own style. He even played drums for DJ Chus & Joeski on their classic track, “El Amor.”

Together, Bryan and Emiliano blend organic and electronic progressive sounds, creating a unique fusion. Their age difference contributes positively to their releases and performances, with Bryan bringing fresh modern sounds and melodies, and Emiliano fine-tuning the rhythmic components with his extensive knowledge built up over the years.

Sparrow & Barbossa are passionate about ethnic and lost cultures, and as globe-trotters, they are committed to transmitting this legacy through electronic music. Their track “Yeke,” with Enzo Siffredi’s remix, charted at number 1 on an afro house download site, and their remix of Fatoumata Diawara’s “Nterini,” signed on MoBlack, charted at number 2 afro house.
